The consultation material states that Folkestone & Hythe District Council can currently demonstrate 3.1 years of housing supply, below the five-year supply required by national planning policy.
The developer also highlights New Romney’s role as a recognised centre for growth within the district and believes the site can help contribute towards future housing delivery.
What Type Of Planning Application Is This?
The proposal is being submitted as an Outline Planning Application with all matters reserved except access. In simple terms, this means the application is seeking approval for the principle of development on the site rather than every detail of the scheme.
If outline permission were granted, matters such as the final layout, appearance, landscaping and scale would be considered through future Reserved Matters applications.
